Few weeks back we shoot in Chicago, commercial kinda shoot. Trying to get something a’la Ralph Lauren look, and CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) seems perfect for that kind of photoshoot. We had entire gang involved: main brain of master plan - Pete, Bea and Anna as hair and wardrobe stylist and Cait - makeup artist. We had two great models: Amber and Karley.
About lighting: we mainly used one speedlight in brolly box, and sometimes Lastolite diffuser for sun blocking or fill. Triggered via PW II.
Two picture below were taken next to the famous green wall before we headed out to financial district:
I know, I know, post processing on pictures below is a little bit on the edge, I usually don’t do much post – but I thought it’s gonna look really good here, and after all – I did only used Lightroom – played with blacks, contrast and clarity
Back in New York session with Anna, I had this idea of her walking down the street with one light blasting her, but we couldn’t pull it up, because the location I liked was too far, and street was pretty busy. But hey – I did it this time and I like the results (maybe except harsh light – but it gives the feeling, and diffused light was simply not powerful enough).
Then Karley turn came and I got to learn how to use my CPL filter in order to create nice window reflection – thanks Pete!
Then after outfit change we moved to more European look location, nice brick road, gate and sign in the background. Same brollybox with CTO gel for warmer look.
Thanks again everyone for making this photoshoot happen!
