What a weekend we had, oh boy! Marcin and Kornelia – our friends from Poland visited us last week. We spent 4 great days together, and we couldn’t get enough of them. I studied with Marcin in college, we were best buddies, we studied hard and partied harderso when I spoke to Kornelia and found out that they were coming to California for business, I wanted them to swing by Chicago and hang out with us. They are those kind of friends, that no matter after how many weeks or even months you meet them, it feels like you spoke yesterday and pick up the pace right away
So yeah, we had a bunch of fun, on Satuday it wasn’t raining, so we went to the city before Bulls game. I took my camera with my tilt lens setup, because I’ve heard that view from Hancock building is pretty sweet. We got to use our 1year pass to Hancock, which Kamila found on travel zoo, and it was awesome – fast line, cheap parking and indeed – sweet view. I’m digging Chicago thru tilt perspective, and I think my New York metal print will have new neighbor soon
When I saw both challenger and the horse on the street, I thought it would be great to take picture of both of them (ideally I would want GT500 instead of Challenger) then I realized that I have Carl Zeiss lens with tilt adapter and manual focus so it was a little bit challenging to capture what I envisioned :/ anyway I took that photo because I thought it’d be cool
What would visiting Chicago be without “the Bean”, right?
Here I switched to 24mm 1.4 with CPL filter (here comes the blue sky), all natty light
I love that series below, not only because Marcin looks like euro trash wearing Kornelia’s sunglasses but also because I was able to capture real emotions
find me if you can
Kamila left us for a while, just to come back with some fuel
girls goofing around:
next day, it was also nice out, so we went for a walk, and before that Marcin and Kornelia took one of our cool retro bikes for a rideI used my 70-200 2.8 here because I needed fast focus and good depth of field (zooming to 200mm gave me more dof).
You might not see that in the photo below, but Marcin and a bike are actually in the air – he’s that kind of a guy
Thanks for stopping by
